Current Positions available
Currently, fee waived PhD positions are available in our group.PhD Position 1 (Flexible Solar Cells for Optical Data Communication)
This project explores solar cells as a novel alternative to photodiodes in optical communication systems. By combining light detection with energy harvesting, these flexible cells offer a wider optical field of view and could outperform traditional PDs in bandwidth and sensitivity. Includes collaboration with Dr Iman Tavakkolnia at the University of Cambridge.
PhD position 2 (Photo-Assisted Rechargeable Batteries)
Be part of a breakthrough in sustainable energy! This project builds on our recently patented work to develop light-rechargeable batteries that overcome the limitations of current designs, improving performance, sustainability, and lifecycle efficiency
